CHOICE is a group that has been set up to offer support to parents who would like their children vaccinated with single vaccines rather than the triple MMR. Founded in March 2003 by Sharon Pitsch and Vicki Hill, CHOICE is a forum where parents are able to pass on information and offer support. We also aim to promote the need for parents to be offered an alternative to the triple MMR vaccine. At the moment parents choices are very limited and information regarding single vaccines is difficult to find. CHOICE are committed to highlighting the ever growing need for single vaccines to be offered to parents on the NHS and also for further independent research to be embarked upon into the triple MMR vaccine.
Sharon and Vicki are both ordinary working mothers who simply have their children's best interests at heart. Neither are medically qualified and are not able to give answers to medical questions. The views of contributors on this website are those of the individual and not necessarily of the organisers.
CHOICE BELIEVES:
* That every parent has the right to choose whether they use the single vaccine or the triple MMR.
* That further research is needed into the affects of the triple vaccine and that this research should be carried out by an independent body.
* That parents have the right to access impartial information about single vaccines as well as the triple MMR.
* That GP's cannot offer impartial advice relating to the MMR as they are currently awarded a cash incentive in relation to the number of patients that they administer the triple vaccine to.
* Parents wishes should be treated with respect by the medical profession and pressure should not be placed on parents to have the triple vaccine if it is against their wishes.
